Yes. We're a mobile wedding dress steaming service covering the South Coast NSW, Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands — including Wollongong, Kiama, Berry, Nowra, Jervis Bay, Mollymook, Bowral and surrounds. We come to your venue, hotel, Airbnb or family home.

How far in advance should I book wedding dress steaming?

Accepted Answer

We recommend booking 4–8 weeks ahead for peak wedding season (spring and autumn). That said, we do accept same-day and night-before bookings whenever our schedule allows — just reach out and we'll do our best.

Question 3

How long does it take to steam a wedding dress?

Accepted Answer

A single wedding gown typically takes 30–60 minutes depending on fabric, layers and embellishment. A full bridal party of 6–10 garments usually takes 2–3 hours on site.

What's the difference between wedding dress steaming and dry cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Dry cleaning uses chemical solvents to remove dirt, stains and oils — best for after the wedding, before preservation. Steaming uses gentle vapour to release wrinkles and reshape the gown — what you need just before you wear it. We're an on-site bridal steaming specialist, not a dry cleaner; if your dress needs cleaning as well, steam it the day before and book a separate dry clean post-wedding.

Do dry cleaners steam wedding dresses?

Accepted Answer

Some do, but it usually means dropping your gown off days in advance, paying a separate press fee and collecting it folded or on a wire hanger. A mobile bridal steamer comes to your venue or accommodation the day before or morning of the wedding, steams the gown in place and leaves it hanging ready to wear — no transport, no folds, no creases on the way to the ceremony.

When should I steam my wedding dress — the day before or the morning of?

Accepted Answer

Either works. The night before is the most popular slot — the gown is hung overnight and stays settled for morning photos. Morning-of bookings are great when the bridal suite is ready early and you want everything pressed minutes before you step into it. We'll recommend the right time based on your run sheet.

Can I steam my own wedding dress at home?

Accepted Answer

Technically yes, but it's risky. Hand-held steamers can spit water onto silk and satin, flatten tulle and dislodge beading or sequins. Heavy beaded bodices and corseted gowns need to be hung on a sturdy rack at the right height, which most homes don't have. If your gown is anything other than a simple unembellished dress, a professional steaming is cheap insurance against a mark on the morning of the wedding.

How do you get wrinkles out of a wedding dress?

Accepted Answer

We use professional upright garment steamers with adjustable heat, and steam from the inside out for delicate fabrics so the vapour relaxes the fibres without leaving water marks. Heavy creases in satin, mikado and crepe respond best to slow vertical passes; tulle and organza are lifted and shaken rather than pressed. We never use a dry iron on a wedding gown.

Can you steam satin, silk, organza or tulle wedding dresses?

Accepted Answer

Yes — these are the fabrics we steam most often. Satin and silk are steamed at low heat from the inside to avoid water marks. Organza and tulle are steamed lightly to keep their volume and crispness. Lace, beaded bodices, sequinned overlays and embroidery are all handled with the steamer held at a safe distance.

Do you steam wedding dresses in Wollongong, Kiama, Berry, Nowra, Jervis Bay and Bowral?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We regularly travel to weddings in Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Gerringong, Berry, Nowra, Jervis Bay, Vincentia, Mollymook, Ulladulla, Bowral, Mittagong and Moss Vale, plus the surrounding South Coast NSW, Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands. Question 11

Do you steam the wedding dress after the wedding for preservation?

Accepted Answer

Steaming on its own isn't preservation — that's a specialist clean-and-box service. We can steam your gown back into shape after the wedding before it goes off for dry cleaning and preservation, or before it's photographed for resale. Get in touch and we'll point you to a trusted preservation partner if you need one.

Is it safe to steam delicate fabrics like silk, lace and beaded gowns?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We use professional garment steamers with adjustable settings and over 30 years of bridal experience behind us. Silk, lace, tulle, beaded bodices and vintage veils are all handled with low-heat, light-touch technique.

Question 13

Do you steam suits, bridesmaid dresses and veils as well?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Grooms' suits, tuxedos, groomsmen, bridesmaid dresses, flower girls, mother of the bride outfits, veils and trains are all part of our standard service. Each suit is hung separately, labelled, with pockets unpicked and tags removed.

Can I drop my dress off instead of an on-site visit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Studio drop-off is available as an alternative to mobile steaming. Get in touch and we'll arrange a time that suits.

What happens if I need you the morning of the wedding?

Accepted Answer

Morning-of bookings are common — we'll arrive early, set up quietly, steam each garment and hang them ready for photos so the bridal party can stay focused on the day.

Question 17

Do you steam non-wedding formal wear?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We also steam debutante dresses, school formal gowns, race-day outfits and black-tie attire for galas and milestone events across the region.
